Abstract
Cornual(Interstitial) pregnancy is a relatively uncommon but potentially catastrophic from of ectopic pregnancy, defined as implantation in the intramural portion of a fallopian tube. Its incidence is estimated to be between 2~4% of all tubal
pregnancy.
Because the greater distensibility and vascularity of this site lead to rupture at a latter gestational age and rapid intraperitoneal hemorrhage, interstitial pregnancy casues serious maternal mortality and morbidity. Although the diagnosis of
this
condition prior to rupture is difficult, early detection is essential to avoid a fatal outcome.
We experienced a case of ruptured cornual pregnancy at 20 week's gestation and so we present it with brief review of literature.
